Should your government invent in space travel? why or why not?

I think government inventing in space travel is good . Because if the Earth is going to break down after many years, we have to find another place for people live. These days government is finding how to make atmosphere and more things on other planets. I guess after several years people can live in other planets and to do that our government will have to invest in space! But some companies invest in space to commercial is good way for government, company and us.
